Being a Chamber member has a lot of benefits. The obvious ones are exposure, networking, professional development opportunities and member-to-member discounts. But, a less used benefit is the opportunity to get involved in Chamber committees and projects. We are always looking for members to join us and bring their ideas and energy to our efforts.
The Chamber has an education, membership and fundraising committee that meets the last Wednesday of each month. This group is responsible for identifying professional development opportunities, membership outreach and opportunities to involve and promote our members, and activities that support the Chamber financially. The EMF is the overarching Committee that plans the Chamber’s Annual Dinner, Perry County Fair participation, Networking events and more. If you are interested in learning more about the EMF, why not join us on Wednesday, July 30 at 5:30 PM at the Chamber office located at 14B West Main Street in New Bloomfield. No obligation!
The Chamber also undertakes various events and activities throughout the year based on opportunity and member feedback. For example, our successful Discover Perry County map was the result of a sub-committee of Retail and Tourism members. One Chamber member saw a similar map in Flordia, brought it to the Chamber and 6 months later, we published our own to fantastic reviews!
We are looking at a lot of neat ideas for the future. We’d love to have your involvement and input. Are you a non profit? Would you like to be part of a committee to identify ways the Chamber can support our non profit community? Then let me know!
Are you a professional service business (lawyer, accountant, realtor, etc.)? We are interested in hearing from you folks. We want to know what we can do to help your businesses grow and propser. Want to share your thoughts? Email me!
The bottom line is always this: The Chamber is here to serve our members. The more involved you are, the more we can do!
