    Job Description
    The Health, Safety and Security Manager (HSSM) is responsible to coordinate and ensure compliance with the directives of the Chief Security Officer (CSO) relating to the protection, safety, and security of PA Options for Wellness assets, product manufacturing and tracking, employees, invitees, and others. The HSSM will supervise assigned security officers during shifts to support the security plan of operations.
    This position is considered a safety sensitive position. Additionally, it is an essential position to provide safety and security services for PA Options for Wellness.
    Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
    Essential duties and responsibilities
    • Provide recommendations to the CSO to improve the safety and security operations plan and acquisition of additional resources to enhance and streamline workflow, ensuring compliance with all directives.
    • Provide day to day oversight and direction to a team of security officers, including but not limited to, assigning daily duties, ensuring staff know and understand their job responsibilities and the associated policy/procedure, and monitor performance; complete annual performance reviews for officers.
    • Conduct security operation duties, including, but not limited to protection of employees, assets, and product, walking patrols through the shift, and Team Lead for transportation operations, to ensure a safe, secure environment.
    • Identify risks and/or hazards with intention to mitigate potential for exploitation.
    • Support operational planning for special events and/or emergency incidents.
    • Serve as a first responder to a security breach and/or crisis event; through consultation with the CSO, determine what response measures/plans to enact; complete any necessary investigation and after-action reporting.
    • Develop, coordinate, and participate in training, drills, and exercises; regularly test and maintain security technology, equipment, and applications to industry and manufacturer specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with the Medical Marijuana Act and any/all regulations.
    • Create, oversee, and approve reports and recordkeeping requirements as mandated by the company and the Department of Health.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
     The successful candidate will possess:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a similar field of study; or 5+ years applicable security leadership experience; or any combination of relevant education and experience.
    • Valid driver’s license, in good standing.
    • OSHA 30 certified.
    • Pennsylvania Act 235 certified preferred.
    • Master’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a similar field of study is preferred.
    • Advanced organization and communication, both verbal and written, skills.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of management principles and practices.
    • Advanced critical thinking skills to evaluate and respond to ever evolving situations.
    • Knowledge of technology, i.e., video surveillance, access control, intrusion, passwords, and POS applications.
    • Knowledge of cash flow and transportation security.
    • Ability to operate in, manage, and lead during a crisis event.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team as well as individual environment.
    • Prior experience with training, including management and administration of programs.
